Old Maid Card

Interrupting Internet- The internet 100% of the time hinders my creativity because I can get stuck in the social networks for hours on end. I chose to draw a computer opened to the web.

Backside Design

This is the back of my deck of cards. I made this colorful background because I believe it goes with the colorful cartoon like characters in my Old Maid cards.

10 activities to stimulate creativity

1.) Reading Reid- I read alot of books in order to clear my mind and allow my creativity to flow.
2.)Bloggin' Betty- I love scrolling through blogs and seeing different art work.
3.)Musical Michelle- In order for me to concentrate I listen to music to put me in a certain place.
4.)Mute Mike- Although I love music I do not like hearing TV as I draw or people talking. I like Silence.
5.)Magazine Maggy- Going through magazines gives me a lot of inspiration to create a great piece.
6.)Fresh Franny- Washing my face is a great way to stimulate creativity, makes me feel clean.
7.)Sexy Sketch- Going through my boyfriends sketch book also helps me before drawing, gives me different ideas on what I could create.
8.)Holey Holly- This shirt I got from a church event and I wear it everytime I draw.
9.)Bathtub Bobby- Taking a shower for many helps stimulate creativity, allows me to smell good odors.
10.) Willma the Water- Water always helps me feel creative. Makes me feel healthy.

5 inanimate objects I keep around my work space

1.) Sketchpad Sally- I always keep my sketchpad on my desk, that is where all my art work is.

2.)Traveling Teddy- His name is Kenny, I have had him since I was in 9th grade. A really good friend gave him to me and I always keep him near.

3.) Lasting Lamp- This is the lamp my mom bought me as a child and i use it for light when i draw at night.

4.) Germ-X Gimmy- I keep hand sanitizer on my desk because when I draw my hands get dirty.

5.)Lifetime Lipstick- I use it as a signature in all of my drawings. I keep it sitting my by sketchpad.

5 people that influenced my creative work

1.) Mothering Mommy- My mom was and still is a big influence on my creativity. She basically shaped what i see as ugly and what I see as beauty.

2.)Sketching Stranger- Plenty of sketch artist in New York definitely influenced me. That is how
I began to draw realistic rather then cartoon like.

3.) Demanding Daddy- My father always strived me to do the best when it came to my art work.

4.)Wise Willie- This is my boyfriend he has taught me how to draw cartoon like, i actually started to really like it.

5.)Loving Lady- This is a really nice lady that went to my church, i forgot her name. She use to always tell me my drawings were beautiful <3

5 events that shaped my personal aesthetic

1.) Creative Crayon- this represents when I was younger my father use to buy me countless crayons and coloring books so that I could perfect my art skills. Super appreciative.

2.)Arty Art- This represents when I first came to the Art Institute. It has shaped my art skills in a way I didn't know was possible.

3.) Elementary Emily- Represents me as a child in art class. I was really into art as a kid and still am to this day.

4.)Mopping Marg- As a kid I always had chores to do every single day, and my house wasn't even dirty but of corse a mom will find anything. It shaped my aesthetic view because i always knew everything had to be neat and clean.

5.) Cool Boy Camera- This represents when i took photography in high school. Taught me to see that there is beauty in a lot of different things.

Twelfth Night

I created a poster for The Twelfth Night. It is about a love triangle. "Bubbles" created this poster with plenty of color and with cheer even though the situation they are in is not a jolly one.

Ads

This image i created to go with the ad I had read. It represents how where ever you go Ads always follow you.

Between Ugliness & Beauty

Eww the sidekick 4g. Probably the ugliest phone that man kind has ever seen. It is super bulky and just not enough technology is in this phone. The beauty in this drawing is the iPhone apps. Let's face it iPhone apps are the best yet.

Between Ugliness & Beauty

I personally love eyelashes and black eyes. Thats the beauty I see. The ugliness in this drawing is obviously her teeth. Im pretty sure everyone would agree.

Between Ugliness & Beauty

This is a drawing of a homeless man. On the outside he is dirty and unappealing. Ugly really. But by reading his sign you can tell he has a honest heart. The beauty is in his soul.

Between Ugliness & Beauty

Cactus'
I think cactus are extremely ugly, not to mention the pain it would cause you if you were to touch it. Although I do love how some of them have flowers that blossom from it's limbs.

CYRK

"CYRK"
This is the circus poster I created. Same cartoon like theme. Extremely colorful and very happy. :)
"Bubbles"
I drew this girl because this is something that I would normally draw. Why? First because I never draw in color. I also never draw cartoon like characters. Im pretty proud of the way she turned out.

Opposite Drawing

In the first drawing I chose the opposite of good and bad. Good being the apple and bad the android of corse. Second one is my favorite it's old and young. A couple of old bananas trying to be young. Lastly sharp & dull. A knife being sharp with a dull face.

Shape Drawing

This shape turned into a cartoon-like man with a pointy nose. I'm really proud of this one. Although it is simple I think it's pretty awesome.

Shape Drawing

This one makes me laugh. This was my first drawing. I did this one in class. It's an angry duck that really does not like birthday parties. I didn't have a red pen in class so I outlined it in black. Hopefully ya'll can see the shape

Shape Drawing

These two drawings are my favorites. I spent more time into these. The top drawing is a robot wolf. Since my shape had sharp edges I could not make an actual wolf. I like this one better anyhow. The bottom is a rocket launcher.

Shape Drawing

The shape reminded me of a rocking chair but while drawing the rocking chair I realized it was just a normal chair.  Therefore, I made a wooden chair with a purse hanging from the back of it. To the right I created a helmet out of the shape. It seemed to just come to me after staring at it for hours.

Shape Drawing

The first picture to the left is a plane flying by a city, NOT 9/11. Just a normal city and a normal plane. :) On the right I made a talking box out of my shape. I thought it looked exactly like one. I put a girly girl speaking girly language.

For the triangle shape I decided to make it into a tent that is getting blown away. I thought this was a creative idea. The square I made into a stove in a kitchen. For some reason I always liked drawing kitchen appliances ever since I was young. Last for the circle I turned that into a snow globe sitting on top of a table.

Exquisite Corpse

This is the 3 sided drawing we did in class. I like the way it came out especially the paint brush legs.
